Poltical-Organisational Report: ‘Building Our Independent Strength is the Only Way Forward’

THE Political-Organisational Report of the 23rd Congress was introduced by CPI(M) Polit Bureau member, Prakash Karat in the evening session on April 8, 2022. The Political-Organisational Report deals with the implementation of the political tactical line adopted in the last Party Congress and the review of the organisational tasks decided in the last Congress.

Stop These Communal Provocations

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on April 12THE communal violence during processions on the occasion of Ram Navami in several states in India – Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand etc − are a matter of deep concern. Reports indicate that there is a pattern in the areas where these incidents have occurred with aggressive armed processions using the occasion to shout the most provocative slogans while passing through minority inhabited colonies leading to altercations followed by stone pelting.

Exuberant Atmosphere marks Culmination of 23rd CPI(M) Congress

APRIL 10, at 2 in the afternoon the delegates assembled outside the venue of the Party Congress, E K Nayanar Academy, to participate in a march to the venue of the public meeting in Kannur.People’s Congress would be the acronym for this Party Congress. Unprecedented in many ways, the core element of this Congress was its people. Not just the delegates who attended it, but the people who surrounded it. Surrounded, yes, there were thousands of homes in the Kannur town and the district that became part and parcel of this Congress.

Condolence Resolution

Members and Former Members of Central CommitteeThe 23rd Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) pays homage to the memory of:Nirupam Sen: A former member of the Polit Bureau and an outstanding leader of the Party. He died on December 24, 2018 after a prolonged illness at the age of 72.Beginning his political life as a student activist, Nirupam Sen joined the Party in 1964 and played an active role in various struggles of the peasantry and the working class in Burdwan district.

Comrade Barkya Mangat

A remarkable Adivasi leader of the CPI(M) and AIKS in Maharashtra, Barkya Mangat, aged 69, passed away on the evening of March 31, 2022, of a sudden heart attack. He was ailing for a few months. Mangat was a member of the Party's Maharashtra state secretariat since 2015 and was the secretary of the Party's Thane-Palghar district committee from 2014 till 2022. He was also the vice president of the AIKS Maharashtra state council.

Rebuff US Pressures

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on April 1, 2022THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly denounces the blandishments issued by USA, through the Deputy National Security Adviser for International Economics, warning India of “consequences” if it seeks to circumvent US sanctions against Russia and work out a discounted energy deal with Moscow. The pointed reference was to dissuade India from entering into any payment schedules bypassing the US dollar i.e.

Tripura: Budget Session: Utterly Failed to Meet People’s Aspirations

ON March 17, the fifth budget of the BJP_IPFT coalition government was placed in the assembly by the finance minister. The total budget proposal is Rs 26,892.67 crore with a deficit of Rs 569.52 crore. Eyeing on the assembly elections in February 2023 there was no proposal for new taxes.The much tom-tommed campaign of implementing the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission was also missing in the budget speech.
