Climate Change: Paris Summit

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on December 17, 2015.

THE world has been waiting anxiously for many years for an international agreement bringing together all countries to combat the global problem of climate change threatening all of humankind.

However, the recent Paris Agreement is deeply flawed as regards both bringing down emissions to safe levels as well as in the proposed international emissions control regime.

Plenum to Begin With Ten Lakh Plus Rally at Kolkata

THE CPI(M)'s Plenum on Organisation from December 27-31, will begin with an unprecedented public rally at historic Brigade Parade Ground of Kolkata. More than ten lakh people will be attending this rally. Party's top leaders from Bengal, along with CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury told a press conference on November 15. To journalists questions, CPI(M) state secretary Suryakant Mishra said that whatever repressive TMC government does, it cannot stop this massive mobilisation of people in Bengal. Condemn This Terror

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), now in session at New Delhi, has issued the following statements on November 14, 2015.

THE Central Committee of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the terror attacks at least at six places in Paris that have already claimed over 145 innocent lives. The recent spate of terror attacks in Baghdad, Beirut and now Paris appear to be related to US/NATO military interventions.

The Central Committee of the CPI(M) deeply mourns the death of innocent people in these terror attacks and condemns such barbaric terror.

Left Parties’ Nationwide Campaign from Dec 1-6 Against Communal Hate Offensive

The six Left Parties met on November 10 at Ajoy Bhavan, New Delhi. CPI(M), CPI, CPI(ML), RSP, Forward Bloc and SUCI leaders participated in the meeting. The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on November 8, 2015.

THE CPI(M) congratulates the people of Bihar who have given a resounding defeat to the BJP alliance in the assembly elections. They have rejected the rank communal campaign conducted by the BJP, led by the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah duo with divisive issues like cow and beef and the bogey of reservations for minorities.

ON November 2, at a function held in Thaayakam, the headquarters of the Marumalarchchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) in Chennai, the leaders of MDMK, CPI(M), CPI and the Viduthalai Chiruththaikal Katchi (VCK) released the common minimum programme (CMP) of the alliance of the four parties which will contest the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu in 2016 jointly.
