DURING its five years in the central government from 2014 to 2019, BJP had not only polarised the people with a narrative of hate politics in its pursuit of Hindu Rashtra. Its economic policies had inflicted considerable harm on vast sections of India’s working people and destroyed informal sector livelihoods on a massive scale via demonetisation and a badly designed and hastily implemented GST.

The event was organised by 108 organisations, to pay a fitting tribute to the great leader.Telugu film director C Umamaheswara Rao, addressing the inaugural session, said the causes espoused by Veeresalingam are most relevant in the contemporary context.

AFTER the elections to the Lok Sabha, violence and hatred is being spread in Begusarai, in Bihar. On May 26, Mohammad Qasim was shot in the chest allegedly by Raju Yadav who is supposedly a liquor baron of the region and supplies illegal liquor(sale of liquor is an offence in Bihar).Qasim who is a native of Khanjapur village works as a salesman; he had gone to Kumbhi village to sell the produce in a mobile van.

ON May 20, Nand Kumar, district panchayat member was attacked by hired miscreants. The Party has demanded immediate arrest of these miscreants who are bent to cow down political voices in the region. The CPI(M) has stated that a peaceful town like Bilaspur in Chattisgarh in being converted into a den of anti-social , criminal elements. 

A DELEGATION comprising of Sumitra Chopra from CPI(M), Rahul Chaudhary from (CPIML), former MLA Pawan Duggal and other leaders of mass organisations like the DSMM and AIDWA visited village Lalabari in Thanagaji in Alwar district. The delegation met the victim of gang rape and her husband who narrated the gory incident of rape by a gang of the region. This gang has ample support of the local police. This gang is also involved in incidents of rioting and loot.
