In Solidarity with Venezuela

THE Venezuela Solidarity Committee denounces the ongoing attempts to destabilise the Bolivarian government of Venezuela. Right-wing opposition groups, supported by the rich oligarchs are openly inciting violence against the democratically elected government. The hand of the US is clearly visible in these events, as evidence emerged that some of the diplomatic officials stationed in the US embassy were in regular contact with the perpetrators of the opposition sponsored violence.

Humanitarian Aid for Syria

THE government of Kuwait hosted the Second International Humanitarian Pledging Conference on Syria in the third week of January just before the warring sides in civil conflict resumed peace talks in Geneva. India was represented by the Minister of State for External Affairs, E Ahamed.

VENEZUELA: With Bloodied Hands, Opposition Playing Dirty

THE OPPOSITION in Venezuela is once again back to its old game – organising violent clashes, creating chaos and thus preparing the atmosphere to destabilise the government. They are desperately trying to create a situation akin to 2002, where they could stage a coup against the Chavez government, however short-lived it may have been. Now that Chavez is no more, they dream that such a coup has more chances to succeed.

An avowed right wing nationalist, Abe has been trying to make dramatic changes in the country’s domestic and foreign policies. Unlike his immediate predecessors, Abe has not shirked away from identifying the neighbouring China as Japan’s main rival in the region.

Growing International Boycott of Israel

EVEN as the Obama administration is trying to get a recalcitrant Israeli government to give some meaningful concessions to the Palestinian Authority (PA), the beleaguered Palestinians got a strong endorsement for their just cause from the American Studies Association (ASA). The Association, America’s oldest and largest academic association devoted to an interdisciplinary study of American culture and history, passed a resolution in the second week of December, agreeing to join a boycott of Israeli academic institutions.
