Left Parties Organises Convention Against Communalism in Ranchi

THE Left Parties – CPI (M), CPI, CPI (ML), Marxist Co-ordination Committee and Forward Bloc – organised a state-level convention against communalism at Ranchi’s Theological Hall.
Addressing the convention, CPI (M) central secretariat member Nilotpal Basu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who owes his rise to the simmering communal tensions across the country and the sustained false propaganda by the corporate media, is now just serving the interests of the corporates. Basu said communalism serves the interest of the corporates, who had spent thousands of crores of rupees during Modi’s campaign blitz in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls.
So after achieving the throne, Modi’s actions are just serving the interests of the corporates. Foreign direct investment (FDI) in defence production, railways, insurance and other sectors; privatisation of the public sector enterprises; and changes in labour laws in favour of the employers are some of the examples which show that the Prime Minister is boldly supporting the corporates and has no care for the toiling masses of the country, a vast number of whom earn less than Rs 20 a day.
More than 500 people including intellectuals, academicians, advocates, members of mass organisations, and Left activists and leaders attended the convention. The convention resolved to organise district- and- local-level conventions mobilising democratic and secular forces and individuals to intensify anti-communal movements throughout the state.
